Globe boosts 5G coverage with 256 new sites in H1 2024

Globe Telecom added 256 5G sites in the first half of 2024, boosting its 5G outdoor coverage across the Philippines.

According to Globe, its 5G outdoor coverage in the National Capital Region (NCR) has now reached an impressive 98.45 percent with this latest deployment (January - June 2024). The telco's dedication to providing cutting-edge technology to a broader audience, irrespective of their location, was underscored by its 94.19 percent 5G outdoor coverage rate in key cities throughout Visayas and Mindanao.

The 5G coverage expansion serves as a testament to Globe's ongoing activities to expand the boundaries of digital connectivity and provide Filipinos with more dependable, faster internet services.

A clear indicator of the increasing demand for high-speed mobile data and the company's capacity to meet it was the fact that Globe recorded over 7 million devices connected to its 5G network in June 2024.

Joel Agustin, Globe SVP and Head of Service Planning and Engineering, said:
Our aggressive 5G rollout across the country is a crucial part of our strategy to ensure that the Philippines is at the forefront of digital transformation. We are proud to see how our investments are resulting in positive change, enabling our customers to enjoy seamless digital experiences wherever they are.

Meanwhile, Globe has made substantial progress on the international front, as well as in its domestic expansion. It has established 5G roaming partnerships with 167 telco operators in 87 destinations.
