Honor of Kings PH announces McDonald's Tempest Cup

The wildly popular MOBA game Honor of Kings (HOK), in partnership with McDonald's Philippines, announced the McDonald's Tempest Cup, a nationwide inclusive esports tournament.

According to HOK, "this collaboration promises to elevate local esports by offering players of all ages and skill levels the platform to shine."

The McDonald's Tempest Cup is poised to deliver an exhilarating experience to participants in Metro Manila, Cebu City, Davao City, and other cities, with the support of TECNO, one of the world's most prominent smartphone brands and the official smartphone partner.

In an effort to secure a portion of the prize pool, which exceeds half a million pesos, as well as exclusive McDonald's gift certificates, numerous teams throughout the Philippines have already submitted their registrations.

This competition provides a unique opportunity for both seasoned professionals and amateur HOK players to evaluate their abilities in a dynamic environment.

Honor of Kings has been steadily providing new and innovative opportunities for players of all ages and backgrounds to transition to the professional level. The mobile MOBA game has also developed initiatives, such as the Honor of Kings Championship, which will be held in October 2024, to encourage the development of young esports talent.

Angelica Frances Neri, esports manager at Level Infinite, expressed her excitement:
We're making great strides in developing the Honor of Kings esports ecosystem and are thrilled to partner with McDonald's on the McDonald's Tempest Cup to support talent across the Philippines. This is just the beginning, and we're committed to creating more opportunities for players to shine.

Whether you are an amateur player who aspires to become a professional or a seasoned professional who wishes to refine your skills in local tournaments, the McDonald's Tempest Cup is intended to accommodate all members of the HOK community.

Neri said:
Our vision for this grassroots tournament is to unite communities in an inclusive competition, offering valuable experience to both amateur and professional teams. With partners like McDonald's, we aim to drive the industry forward and nurture the next generation of star players.
