Travel Alliance (Globe, more telcos) kicks off rewards program

The Travel Alliance, which includes Globe (via GOMO), Singtel, AIS, HKT, Optus, Taiwan Mobile, and Telkomsel, announced partnerships with Grab and Trip.com. These collaborations will help Alliance customers save money on food deliveries, accommodations, flights, and rides while traveling. The promos will start on January 1, 2025, and will be rolled out gradually by the Alliance members.

The Travel Alliance started in February 2024 to create a new cross-border rewards program that allows nearly 300 million customers to enjoy benefits on transportation, merchandise, lifestyle services, and dining when they travel to the markets where the telco operators are located. Trip.com and Grab are the first partners in this program, offering rewards that Alliance customers can easily access.

Mr. Darius Delgado, Globe Telecom's chief commercial officer, said:
We are always seeking bold, innovative ways to elevate our customers' experiences wherever they are. This partnership empowers our customers to travel smarter and more affordably, unlocking exclusive rewards that enhance convenience and connectivity. With Globe, every journey becomes seamless and truly rewarding.

Secure better deals on flights and accommodations

Trip.com will offer Travel Alliance customers the best-in-market discounts of 10% off hotel reservations and 6% off flight bookings, as part of the regional cross-border rewards program.

Moreover, eligible Alliance customers will receive exclusive benefits, including free access to airport VIP lounges and vehicle model upgrades for airport transfers, as well as an immediate upgrade to Trip.com's highest level, Diamond.

Ms. Han Feng, Trip.com's head of marketing, said:
As a customer-focused company, Trip.com is delighted to partner with the alliance of seven telcos to bring exceptional travel opportunities to their users across the Asia Pacific region. This collaboration reflects our commitment to making travel more accessible and rewarding by leveraging innovative partnerships. By combining the convenience of our platform with exclusive discounts for the telco customers, we aim to inspire more people to plan the perfect trip for a better world.

Explore Southeast Asia (SEA) with ease

In early 2025, the Travel Alliance and Grab will collaborate to offer exclusive discounts and deals to Alliance clients, including a Grab Tourist Pack.

Mr. Chuck Kim, Grab's managing director of group business development & strategic partnerships, stated:
With our presence in over 700 cities across 8 countries in Southeast Asia, Grab believes we can be the one app travellers need for hailing rides, ordering food, dining out or getting emergency supplies delivered to their doorstep. We are pleased to partner the Travel Alliance to support the travel needs of their vast combined customer base.
