After its soft launch last year, Mobile Legends maker Moonton officially released its free-to-play multiplayer strategy game, Magic Chess: Go Go (MCGG), in the Philippines and other Southeast Asian (SEA) countries on mobile devices, be it Android or iOS. You may go to Google Play or Apple App Store. There, you can download and install it.
To celebrate MCGG's APAC Grand Launch, Moonton prepared various in-game events offering free rewards and revealed an esports tournament.
Game Overview
Moonton Games' Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) team created Magic Chess: Go Go. MCGG lets players become master strategists and command Mobile Legends Heroes, such as Aamon and Miyah, to assemble their ultimate combo. Eight players will fight on each chessboard. Players battle separately, testing their decision-making and strategies in real time over numerous rounds to be the very last strategist standing.
As it's a casual auto-battler game, it can be played anytime, anyplace with friends. Strategy and luck determine victory here. You control a Commander to recruit and upgrade Heroes, form Synergies, distribute equipment, and strategically position pieces to outmaneuver opponents each round.
Further, super buffs are needed. At specific stages of each match, you can choose among Go Go Cards with distinct effects. When ahead, attack hard to extend your lead; when down, reverse the situation to recover. With luck, you'll draw and pick the right Go Go Cards to win.
Regarding updates, it includes new MCGG features, enhanced gameplay (like the revamped Magic Crystal system), optimized app size, streamlined social features, and integration with Mobile Legends.
Grand Launch Events and Rewards
Magic Chess: Go Go Season 1, Rising Dawn, starts with exciting bonuses. Veteran Magic Chess players will have their assets converted at 100 percent value (Gratitude Event), 14 free Commanders (1-Star), and skins (Commander Layla Skin "Plasma Gunner" and Chessboard Skin "Ruins of Fall").
Besides that, get an MCGG x MLBB Collab Skin for free just by completing the collaboration Event Tasks. This skin is X.Borg - Pecados Rioter, which is worth 599 Diamonds.
Meanwhile, those who pre-registered for the game will obtain pre-registration rewards, including Layla (1-Star), Limited Avatar Border (30 Days), Go Go Chest (1-Star), Chess Points, Magic Trick, and 1-Star Commander Trial Card.
First Esports Tournament
MCGG revealed its first competitive esports event, Magic Chess: Go Go Indonesia Community Tournament. From March 7 to 16, 2025, the MCCT ID will allow 512 Indonesian players to compete. Featuring a USD 5,100 prize pool, the tournament will be broadcast live throughout the Semifinals (March 14–15) and Final (March 16).
MOONTON Games will provide livestream traffic support to players who make it to the top 16 and wish to become MCGG streamers following the conclusion of the MCCT ID.
