OPPO has collaborated with local telco giant Smart to test the new AI LinkBoost 2.0 technology in the Reno13 Series 5G in Metro Manila, the capital region of the Philippines.
The result? The OPPO Reno13 Series 5G, which earned the TÃœV Rheinland High Network-Performance Certificate, outperformed competing smartphone brands in maintaining and recovering connectivity and speed.
OPPO Reno13 Series 5G dominated other devices when tested in demanding conditions, such as areas with weak signals and WiFi coverage, congested areas, subways, and locations with network interference, where they rapidly recovered signals.
The upgraded AI LinkBoost 2.0 showed superior performance in terms of internet connectivity, call quality, and network switching. The latest OPPO AI Phones were faster at sending photos and videos in busy places, streaming videos on subways, and recovering signals in elevators where network interference is common.
AI LinkBoost 2.0 now includes 11 antennas. This innovation complements the 360º Surround Antenna system, enhancing signal strength and ensuring consistent connectivity.
The following are the results of the tests conducted on the OPPO Reno13 Series 5G, which demonstrate the capabilities of AI LinkBoost 2.0.
Weak Signal Areas
The OPPO Reno13 5G excelled in weak signal areas, recording download speeds and upload speeds of 82.6 Mbps and 7.2 Mbps, respectively, far surpassing competitors, which ranged from 32.9 to 36.3 Mbps for downloads and 4.8 to 6.7 Mbps for uploads.
Signal Recovery Speeds
Elevators can cause significant signal loss, but the OPPO Reno 13 5G phone quickly reconnects. It restored signal in an average of 9.6 seconds over 10 trials, while competitors took up to 40 seconds, making it 76 percent faster in network recovery.
WiFi Coverage
In recent trials, the OPPO Reno 13 5G, equipped with AI LinkBoost 2.0, offers WiFi connectivity that is 37.95 percent farther than competitors, ensuring stronger and more stable connections for online browsing, gaming, and streaming.
Rapid Network Selection and Connection
The OPPO Reno 13 5G with AI LinkBoost 2.0 tech surpassed competitors in Manila Metro mobility tests, achieving just 35.5 seconds of lag while streaming TikTok and YouTube videos, even in subway tunnels. In contrast, rival phone brands encountered up to 100 seconds of lag, establishing the Reno 13 5G as a leader in real-world connectivity.
File Transfer in Congested Network Areas
In crowded areas, the OPPO Reno 13 5G transfers media in just 1.8 seconds, making it up to 90 percent faster than competitors, which can take up to 21 seconds.
OPPO Philippines noted that the results are based on actual conditions and may differ due to weather and environmental changes.
To recall, AI LinkBoost, OPPO's proprietary communication technology, was first introduced on Reno12 Series 5G, comprising nine individual antennas.
