2XKO closed beta test (CBT) kicks off on September 9, 2025

The closed beta test (CBT) of 2XKO, the highly anticipated free-to-play 2v2 team-based fighting game, will start on September 9, 2025, Riot Games announced. This will give fighting game fans a chance to try the game.

The 2XKO CBT will be available worldwide, including the Philippines, initially on Windows PC, and then on console platforms, including PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S | X at a later date.

During the CBT period, 2XKO will support cross-platform progression and inventory, allowing beta testers to begin playing on PC and move to a console platform (once available) without losing progress or inventory.

Riot Games expects to keep 2XKO online and servers running through launch when the closed beta test begins on September 9, 2025.

For those interested, here's how to join 2XKO CBT. Fans who played Alpha Lab 1 and/or Alpha Lab 2 on PC or console will automatically be invited to the PC Closed Beta. Meanwhile, newer players can participate by registering at 2xko.riotgames.com/beta.

Vi, the Piltover Enforcer with hextech-powered gauntlets, will be unveiled as 2XKO's new playable champion at the annual Evolution Championship Series (Evo), August 1–3, 2025, in Las Vegas. In the 2XKO booth, attendees will be able to play the fan-favorite champion from League of Legends and Arcane. Vi will also be available to play in Closed Beta.

As a recap, the upcoming free-to-play 2v2 tag-based fighting game is set in a modern Runeterra. As per Riot, they designed 2XKO (initially known as Project L) to satisfy the most dedicated fighting game community (FGC) and attract newcomers with new innovations and support of the whole fighting game ecosystem.
