New Valorant PH-MNL server brings lower ping, Riot says

To my fellow Filipino Valorant players, here's some big news that most of us have been waiting for. Riot Games announced that the Philippines is finally getting its very own Valorant game server.

Launching this August 20 at 5:00 AM, we can move to this new server and play Valorant with lower ping, more stable connections, and smoother gameplay. The new game pod is also set to go live with Patch 11.04.

The Manila server will function like the existing game pods in Southeast Asia, and its location will be labeled 'MNL' in the server options under the region tab for eligible players. In line with the Manila server launch, Riot Games PH will soon announce community tournaments across the country. More details below.

New PH-MNL server goes live on August 20, 2025

Manila, the sixth Valorant game server in the Asia Pacific region, will launch with Patch 11.04 to improve connectivity and gameplay experience for Pinoy players.

As per Riot Games, the new Valorant Manila server should "lower ping, reduce instability, and improve overall connectivity." It aims to remove infrastructure-related barriers Filipino players have when connecting to international servers, particularly in Hong Kong.

Valorant's MNL game server won't affect its HK server, Pinoy players' main hub since 2020. Even if some players switch to the new server, game quality and matchmaking on the HK server will remain robust due to the game's strong and active APAC player base.

Further, the Manila server is an option, not a substitute. Filipino gamers can switch to the new server, and Hong Kong players can continue playing without interruption. Top Filipino teams from the Manila server can still qualify for the Challengers Southeast Asia league, and players can still enter Premier tournaments. This ensures fair access to higher-level competition.

The Manila server will work like the Hong Kong and Singapore game pods. Eligible players will see 'MNL' in Southeast Asia server options.

First-ever gameserver in the Philippines

The debut of the Manila server comes after Valorant's month-long fifth anniversary celebration, which featured Filipino players in a tribute video, "Humans of Valorant" mini-docu series, and a massive mural at a Taguig City tenement that depicted local moments that shaped the Pinoy Valorant experience. These tributes demonstrate the game's cultural significance and community passion.

Jason Roberto, Valorant Brand Manager, Riot Games Philippines, said:
The launch of Valorant's first-ever gameserver in the Philippines reinforces Riot Games' commitment to improving the local player experience while celebrating the Filipino players and communities that have fueled the game's growth. Our priority has always been to enrich the game experience for local players and ensure we're providing the right level of support to our base. We're excited for them to try out the Manila gameserver and experience smoother connectivity and more hyperlocal matches that will bring fresh excitement to their games.

To celebrate the new PH-MNL game server, Riot Games Philippines will hold community competitions for Filipino gamers nationwide. Fans should follow VALORANT's PH social media accounts for updates.

Now that we're having a dedicated PH server, we're gonna expect a single-digit ping, less lag, and mostly Tagalog and Bisaya on voice chats. Let us also recognize that the Valorant roster includes Neon or Agent 19, a Filipino Duelist agent who hails from Manila. – PinoyTechSaga
