Genshin Impact released Version Luna I: A Dance of Snowy Tides and Hoarfrost Groves, the open-world RPG's major annual update.

New Story
After completing Liyue's main questline, players can start the new Archon Quest in the Nod-Krai region, facing rising tension with long-awaited characters.
The Fatui Harbinger, "Marionette," rules Nod-Krai while a scheme to take the moon's power emerges. Players join Lauma of the Frostmoon Scions, fight the Wild Hunt with Flins, and meet Dori, Jahoda, and Nefer in Nasha Town. Columbina, the Moon Maiden, has left the Fatui and returned to Nod-Krai, where she was born.
New Characters: Lauma, Flins, Aino
Three new Nod-Krai characters will be playable, some with Lunar Reactions. Five-star Catalyst-wielding Lauma triggers the Lunar-Bloom Reaction with her Dendro abilities. Five-star Polearm-wielding Flins uses Electro to launch Lunar-Charged attacks. Progressing through the new Archon Quest recruits 4-star Claymore wielder Aino for free.
The first part of Version Luna I's Event Wishes (banners) will feature Lauma, Nahida's rerun, and a Sumeru-themed Chronicled Wish. The second part has Flins, Aino, and Yelan again.
New In-Game Features
New features enhance the relationship between characters, story, and open world exploration, bringing Genshin Impact players deeper into Teyvat.
Each new character in Version Luna I has distinct interactions based on their background and skills. Frostmoon Scions bow toward Lauma as she passes by her camp. Her strong relationship with animals lets them heal, feed, and provide ores to the party. The experienced Lightkeeper Flins uses his lamp to sense the Wild Hunt and comprehend their cryptic murmurs. The genius inventor of "Knuckle Duckle," Aino, unlocks exclusive interactions with this gigantic robot.
Further, the new feature, "Meeting Points," lets gamers see their friends' daily lives. These vignettes show the journey more personally, from Lauma and Flins telling ancient legends to Ineffa and Aino's tenderness.
Genshin Impact - 5th Anniversary Overview
Players can get many rewards for Version Luna I and Genshin Impact's fifth anniversary. They can get a free 5-star character (from Standard Wish) and ascension materials (needed to level the character up to Level 60). Primogems x1,600, Intertwined Fate x10, 2 Nod-Krai-themed gadgets, and more can be received via in-game mail.
The beloved Genshin Impact Fan Art Special Program will return to HoYoFair for a two-hour presentation of creative and amusing fan-created videos to celebrate the community's anniversary. On September 20 at 20:00 (UTC+8), Genshin Impact's YouTube, X, Instagram, and TikTok will launch "Parallels Meet," a program with over 15 animated shorts and musical pieces celebrating five years of community, innovation, and shared passion.
Moreover, it includes sequels to fan favorites and new works by famous artists:
- Series finale of dillongoo's "If Genshin Had a Cyberpunk Anime: Progenitor"
- New chapter of No_Tables's "Genshin Elemental Warfare"

Meanwhile, award-winning artist ReoNa will debut at HoYoFair with the Genshin Impact's official theme song. Japanese voice actors for Kokomi, Amber, Kirara, Varesa, and Layla star in a girl band–themed animation.
