Magic Chess: Go Go debuts as demo sport in SEA Games 2025

Magic Chess: Go Go (MCGG) will debut as a demonstration sport at the 33rd Southeast Asian Games, a milestone for its esports environment.

Interestingly, MCGG will be the first-ever mobile Auto Chess game at the biennial SEA Games, demonstrating its global reach.

MCGG and MOBA Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB), also created by Moonton, will open this year's SEAG on December 12, 2025. Both titles will celebrate esports' role in uniting national athletes for glory.

Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand athletes will compete in the MCGG demo match. This non-medal event will pit eight representatives against each other for the top honor for their country.

The strategy-based auto-battler game gives the SEA Games a dynamic competitive dimension, testing competitors' tactical thinking, agility, and foresight. MCGG represents the SEA Games' values of sportsmanship and fair play by uniting regional athletes on a stage.

The accessibility and single-player format allow players of various backgrounds to compete and win. The Magic Chess: Go Go's SEA Games debut opens the door to esports for all ambitious gamers.

Ray Ng, MOONTON's head of esports ecosystems, shared:
We're incredibly proud that MCGG has earned its place on a prestigious stage like the SEA Games. It's amazing that our players will share the spotlight alongside some of the most competitive sporting athletes in the region. For us, MCGG has always been more than just a game. It's about using the game to build a connected ecosystem that gives aspiring champions a chance to shine. This is only the beginning, and I'm excited for what's ahead as we continue working with regional and national partners to grow MCGG into a global esports platform.

Santi Lothong, Thailand Esports Federation president, stated:
Having MCGG featured at the SEA Games shows how innovation and accessibility can reshape the future of sports. What we love about its format is how its low barriers to entry [give] new athletes a chance to represent their countries while uncovering emerging talents from our region. We're proud that the 33rd SEA Games will lead this movement by bringing in MCGG alongside traditional sports. The SEA Games is excited to support its development and inspire the next generation to see gaming as a pathway for competition and national pride.

Livestream of MCGG - SEA Games 2025 matches will be available on the game's official YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/@MagicChessGoGo).
