Zenless Zone Zero Version 2.5 Update, "To Be Fuel for the Night," will be available on December 30, 2025 (GMT+8), the HoYoverse team revealed.
The major ZZZero update takes players into the final chapter of Season 2. It introduces two new S-rank agents: the first dual-form Void Hunter Ye Shunguang and the popular agent Zhao. There'll also be a series of much-anticipated events that include broadened Hollow gameplay and multiplayer combat, and many optimizations.
To celebrate the new year 2026 and thank players for their support, the ZZZero V2.5 patch will also give players a free S-Rank Agent Zhao, a new outfit for Jane, 1,000 Polychromes, and extra rewards.
Zenless Zone Zero Version 2.5: 2 New S-Rank Agents, QoL Updates
Ye Shunguang, Yunkui Summit's young senior disciple, is the first dual-form Void Hunter. With Honed Edge, her unique attribute, she can enter the Enlightened Mind state. She activates her signature Ether Veil skill to deal immense Honed Edge DMG while making enemies vulnerable. Her sidekick, Bangboo Sprout, supports her by attacking enemies with volleys of soaring swords.
Joining Ye Shunguang (S-Rank Honed Edge Attack Agent) is the undefeated legend of Krampus, Zhao (S-Rank Ice Defense Agent).
Despite her cute appearance, Zhao moves quickly across the battlefield and strikes with her large weapon to control enemies. By building up Frostbite, Zhao can activate Ether Veil: Wellspring, which gives powerful boosts to the whole squad.
With strengthened companions, the new chapter reveals the final scenarios of the Waifei Peninsula crisis. The legendary Qingming Sword has started to resonate with the Creator's primordial power. This overwhelming force helped the Proxies in previous battles, but it now threatens a serious backlash for Ye Shunguang.
On the other hand, mysterious white flowers, once only found in the Hollows, have started blooming in Failume Heights. This signals the dangerous Lemnian Hollow's expansion. Explore the ruins of the Lumite Mine, using the new Perception Technique, and team up with allies to uncover the truths concealed within the Hollow's depths.
In the Zenless Zone Zero V2.5 update, the adventure continues. In the Sword Seeker Chronicles epilogue, help Ye Shunguang find a solution for the backlash of the Qingming Sword. The investigation highlights Ye Shunguang's Bladeflash Mirage ability and provides special rewards, including a new W-Engine.
Further, 'Joint Investigation: The Divine Maze' will debut multiplayer combat. In this limited-time event, three-member teams tackle fast-paced cooperative challenges that reward teamwork and precise timing.
Meanwhile, the new Proxy Outpost lets you join or create outposts. Here, engage in discussions with other players and post or accept commissions.
ZZZero Version 2.5 also brings quality-of-life (QoL) updates that improve combat and progression. The current Agents, Grace, Soldier 11, Soldier 0, Anby, Ellen, and Burnice, will get updated mechanics and performance boosts. More agents in the standard Stable Channel will receive enhancements in the future.
Enhancements to Shiyu Defense and Deadly Assault refine the gameplay loop. The Combat Simulation stages will have a new sweep function, which allows players to use Ether Batteries to quickly gather Drive Discs and promotion materials, making daily progression easier.
