Blizzard Entertainment's Diablo 30th Anniversary Spotlight kicked off a milestone year for the action RPG franchise. The event showed major content updates for Diablo IV, Diablo Immortal, and Diablo II's surprise introduction of Reign of the Warlock, the first new playable class of the game in 25 years.
The Warlock, a malevolent caster who uses Hell's might against themselves, appears in Diablo IV, Diablo Immortal, and Diablo II: Resurrected. The Warlock's growth from its early origins to its more lethal and twisted form at the peak of Diablo IV's Age of Hatred saga is shown in each incarnation.
Per Blizzard, the Spotlight event marks a milestone year for the Diablo franchise with new major releases and updates, as it prepares for the upcoming BlizzCon 2026 in September.
Check out the highlights of updates for the three titles in the Diablo franchise in 2026 below.
Diablo II: Resurrected – Reign of the Warlock
The new Hell-forged Warlock class dominates the battlefield by summoning, binding, and transforming demons.
A new endgame challenge is also available. Earn consumables and pick acts, the 'Terrorized' ones, to maximize difficulty and rewards. Defeating Hell-difficulty Terrorized Act bosses may reveal one of five mystical statues. Combining them unlocks the Colossal Ancients, a challenging boss battle that tests your skills and builds.
For Quality-of-Life Updates, Reign of the Warlock now has advanced stash tabs, loot filters, and a Chronicle system to chart your treasure-hunting legacy and earn new rewards.
Diablo Immortal – Andariel Rises
Andariel, the Maiden of Anguish, returns in Diablo Immortal, along with the new class, Warlock, and a lineup of 2026 campaign updates, including new zones, events, IP collaborations, and gameplay enhancements.
Warlock, a dark spellcaster using barred Vizjerei magic, has mastered demons like the Soulgorger and will be released in 2026.
Diablo II's Lut Gholein is divided into the turbulent Common Ward and the eerie, exquisite High Ward, reflecting the horror of its desecration.
Diablo IV: Lord of Hatred (Launching April 28 AEST)
Players will be summoned to Sanctuary in the impending expansion of Diablo IV to face Mephisto's increasing influence. This expansion will feature a significant gameplay evolution and an epic battle with the Lord of Hatred.
Experience the Warlock's heavy metal power vs the Paladin's divine light. In the Mephisto fight, two heroes are opposites. Diablo IV's Warlock is unique with metal chains, fire, and devastating abilities that turn Hell's wrath on itself.
The new endgame systems allow players more flexibility over progression and challenge. War Plans lets players customize their endgame experience with custom activity pathways, while rare Echoing Hatred encounters challenge builds with growing waves of formidable enemies.
The last battle with Mephisto occurs in the ancient Skovos region. Players will encounter new characters, quests, and monsters in the ancient Mediterranean-inspired environments where civilization began.
