Mobile Legends: MSC and MWI at 2026 Esports World Cup

Mobile Legends: MSC and MWI at 2026 Esports World Cup

Moonton Games revealed the "Two Champions, One Game" campaign for Mobile Legends: Bang Bang at the 2026 Esports World Cup. The mainstay title returns for a third year with the expanded MLBB Mid Season Cup and rebranded MLBB Women's International. MSC and MWI are now equal pillars of Mobile Legends' international mid-season circuit, serving as parallel global championships.

MSC 2026 Includes More Regions

MSC has expanded its global representation by debuting qualification pathways for teams from Western Europe, Thailand, India, and South Korea for the first time.

Moonton Games' dedication to providing additional athletes with access to the world's biggest esports venue is emphasized by these developments.

MWI 2026: From Invitational to International

Women's esports enters a new chapter with the relaunched MWI (previously the MLBB Women's Invitational) as a worldwide tournament. EWC 2026 will be MWI's largest edition, with open qualifiers in over 60 regions.

As MWI expands its competitive presence, its Western Europe qualifiers will debut this edition. The competition gives girl MLBB gamers worldwide the chance to compete for a monumental USD 500,000 prize pool in esports.

MWI's growth cements its status as a premier women's esports league. Since 2022, the Southeast Asia-based tournament has grown into a global competition. EWC's solitary women's tournament allows females to compete against the world's greatest esports players.

Ray Ng, Moonton global esports ecosystem head, stated:
MWI's evolution into the MLBB Women's International reflects where the ecosystem is today. What began as an invitational has evolved into a global qualification pathway, with our women's teams earning their spots through regional qualifiers since 2024. This growth has taken MWI from a regional initiative to a global tournament, and the rebrand reflects the impact it now has. Today, MLBB accounts for four of the five most-watched women's esports events of all time, underscoring the strength of our community. Our ambition is to set the standard for how global esports ecosystems are built. By positioning MWI alongside MSC, we are creating a unified platform where talent is recognized on the same stage, regardless of background.

Team Vitality, reigning MWI champions, leads the ecosystem's talent growth. The squad won their third global title in 2025 with a flawless international run, creating history. Female Mobile Legends esports athlete Vivi "Vivian" Indrawaty (Roamer) made her Las Vegas Sphere debut at MWI 2024. Beyond esports, the team's personal journey was featured in the Amazon Prime docu Level Up.

Theme for EWC 2026: "Two Champions, One Game"

Mobile Legends' "Two Champions, One Game" goal will be realized with MSC and MWI as parallel world championships. The greatest prize pool for an esports title at the event is USD 3.5 million for both events.

Esports Charts reported record viewership for both Mobile Legends tournaments at EWC 2025. The tournament's top viewership was MSC, the first to achieve 3M Peak Concurrent Viewers. With over 496K Peak Concurrent Viewers, MWI had its best performance. It was the first women's tournament to attain 100K Average Concurrent Viewers.

Ray Ng also noted:
As we mark 10 years of MLBB later this year and nine years of building its competitive esports ecosystem, our focus has shifted to how we define competition at the global level. "Two Champions, One Game" reflects a deliberate decision to place both MSC and MWI on the same competitive footing, with equal championship status on the world stage. It is about building a single, unified esports narrative where success is defined by performance, not category. This edition, we're also very excited to welcome teams from India, Thailand, South Korea, and Western Europe, reflecting the increasingly global identity of MLBB Esports.

As a recap, Moonton first revealed the 2026 MLBB Esports Roadmap at the M7 World Championship Grand Finals. Each region will have customized infrastructure and talent development channels under the five-region model, integrating the MLBB Esports ecosystem. The upcoming M8 World Championship Finals will be Mobile Legends' first Europe-based tournament in Turkey as part of its worldwide expansion strategy.
