Zenless Zone Zero Version 2.8 Update, "New: Eridan Sunset," will be available on May 6, 2026 (GMT+8), the HoYoverse team revealed
Ramiel will be pursued in the Outer Ring in this upcoming update. With the addition of new S-Rank agents Starlight - Billy and Promeia, this patch update includes the Marcel Bootopia-themed event, a new Wind-attribute enemy with the Vortex fighting mechanic, and a new exquisite skin for Hoshimi Miyabi.
Moreover, HoYoverse confirmed that its urban fantasy ARPG title will launch on Steam soon.

Zenless Zone Zero Version 2.8: 2 New S-Rank Agents, Events, System Optimizations
The final chapter of Season 2 introduces the story of numerous Outer Ring factions pursuing the mystery objective Ramiel. As an intelligence contact, Promeia, Krampus' executioner, joins Starlight - Billy (upgraded), the players, and Cissia to reveal Ramiel's real identity and intentions. As the investigation progresses, players may face an unexpected twist that comes with risk and opportunity, possibly giving them a new power.
Promeia, from the Krampus faction, is an S-Rank Ice Anomaly agent. By turning Corrosive Chill to Trial by Cold, she can easily activate Abloom on opponents. Her EX Special Attack enables the state of Bound Absolution, triggering a Perfect Dodge once attacked. She increases Abloom damage when the squad has another Anomaly or Support agent.
Starlight- Billy, from the Cunning Hares faction, is an S-Rank Physical Rupture agent and is Billy's upgraded form. He deals huge Physical burst damage with his combat motorcycle and Starlight Knight flying kick. He boosts his Sheer damage based on his max HP, which includes all his attacks' Physical damage. Starlight - Billy can also heal himself with some of his skills. His Ultimate kick hits adversaries hard.
Both Promeia and Starlight - Billy will be featured in Zenless Zone Zero Version 2.8 banners, alongside reruns of S-Rank agent Lucia Elowen (Ether - Support) and Orphie Magnusson & Magus (Fire - Attack).
A new attribute enemy and Vortex combat mechanic will also be added. When specific enemies are hit with the Wind Attribute Anomaly, adding other Attribute Anomalies will cause Vortex to activate instead of Disorder, which will deal AoE Anomaly damage that matches the corresponding element. This provides strategic depth to teambuilding.
Various events with generous rewards will also be released in ZZZero V2.8 Update. Players control Eous to rescue captive Bangboos and obtain treasures on a Bangboo resort island briefly shuttered by a Hollow in the "Marcel Bootopia" event. Booltergeist and Bangboo core are awarded for event completion. In combat, A-Rank Bangboo is able to hover and fire lasers, dealing more damage with certain teammates. The "Ultimate Verdict Trial" event lets players fight with Promeia, and many other activities provide Polychrome rewards.
After the version update, the new Hoshimi Miyabi: Dignified Blossom outfit, the family's classic style, will be available in the shop.
For system optimizations, a new Polychrome Guide will track the progress of limited-time rewards. Further, a new auto-delete mechanism optimizes resource and storage management.
Meanwhile, the planned release date of Zenless Zone Zero on Steam is Q2 2026. Sign-ups for Steam Advance Testing are also now open. Per HoYoverse, it will support cross-platform data compatibility with other platforms (PlayStation 5, PS5 Pro, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox Cloud Gaming, PC, iOS, and Android).
