Free Fire creator Garena and Japanese publishing giant Kadokawa on Tuesday shared the latest update on the upcoming anime adaptation of the popular mobile battle royale game with an official title, "Free Fire Daybreak."
The anime TV series, which is to be co-produced by the two companies through a joint investment, is set to air in Spring 2027 and will be broadcast and streamed globally, including in Japan.
Per Garena, the official promo video trailer will be released this week (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s3BpL7cvnc8).
The anime's main visual was also revealed in conjunction with the announcement.
In Free Fire Daybreak, the 16-year-old protagonist Kelly wakes up with no knowledge of her past and is dragged into Horizon Corporation's enigmatic "Project Bloom" in New Dawn, a future metropolis.
The new key visual captures the series' unique atmosphere and highlights Kelly, Moco, and Hayato preparing for the challenges ahead.
The shattered glass fragments show Kelly after activating a special ability, giving fans and gamers a sneak peek at her transformation.
Animating Free Fire Daybreak is studio CANDYBOX, with Ken Takahashi as director, Hotaru Asafuji handling series composition and screenplay, and Kouji Fujimoto (Sus4 Inc.) composing the music.
