Globe logs strong SMS, mobile speeds, call results —NTC

In the latest National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) joint quality-of-service tests, Globe performed well in mobile data, messaging, and voice. The telco registered 381 Mbps download speeds. It also met SMS success and dropped-call regulatory standards. The results support government data showing Globe's network performance improved in 2026.

Globe had the highest average SMS success rate of 99.41% among the three mobile providers in Metro Manila, meeting the NTC's 99% threshold. Globe excelled in critical communication services with a 0.74% average call drop ratio, much below the regulator's 2% requirement.

Moreover, Globe delivered 381 Mbps max download speed in mobile broadband testing. The NTC revealed that 113 of 142 test campaigns for all three telcos achieved speeds above 50 Mbps, indicating very good mobile broadband performance in most areas.

Atty. Froilan Castelo, General Counsel at Globe, said:
These results demonstrate the strength of Globe's network in delivering the essential services Filipinos rely on every day, from making calls and sending messages to accessing mobile data. We welcome the NTC's continued monitoring as it provides an important measure of service quality and helps us identify where further improvements are needed.

The NTC findings complement the Department of Information and Communications Technology's nationwide Oplan Bantay Signal monitoring enhancements. Globe's average download speed surged 41% from 36.5 Mbps to 51.53 Mbps, and its performance score rose from 77.2 in January to a record-high 82.6 in September.

Despite having the most mobile subscribers, Globe has maintained reliability. Globe had 44.76% of the mobile market in September but just 6.1% of disconnection complaints, down 64% from January, as per DICT's Telco Report Card.

Globe improves infrastructure, speeds site rollout, and expands coverage in underserved locations to bolster its network. This includes prioritizing places where greater infrastructure will benefit more Filipinos and using satellite direct-to-cell technologies to provide connectivity beyond regular mobile networks.

To avid users of Globe's mobile services here, be it Prepaid or Postpaid, I would be glad to know your experience with the telco's text, calls, and 4G and 5G internet quality in your area. – PinoyTechSaga
