Samsung has announced their latest foldable devices, the Galaxy Z Fold3 5G and the Galaxy Z Flip3 5G. These high-end smartphones feature Dynamic AMOLED 2X screens, 120Hz Adaptive refresh rates, 5nm chipsets, and 5G connectivity.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3 5G
The Galaxy Z Fold3 is equipped with a 7.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X with an adaptive 120Hz screen refresh rate and a max brightness of up to 1200 nits. In folded mode, both front and back are protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus. The protective panel over the internal display has been toughened up with the company’s Armor Aluminum frame.
For the cameras, it got an under-display camera selfie camera packing a 4-megapixel lens and another 10-megapixel selfie shooter in a punch hole on the cover screen. Its primary camera setup was composed of three cameras. There’s a 12-megapixel main snapper, 12-megapixel ultrawide camera, and a 12-megapixel telephoto shooter. Both the main and ultrawide cameras are OIS-enabled.
The Galaxy Z Fold3 is powered by a 2.84 GHz 5nm Snapdragon 888 processor, paired with 12GB of RAM and 256/512GB non-expandable UFS 3.1 storage to ensure the smooth operation of the Android 11 OS with One UI skin. The device has a 4,400mAh battery capacity, and it supports 25W wired fast charging, 11W wireless, as well as 4.5W reverse wireless charging.
Other highlights include S Pen support, 5G connection, IPX8 water-resistant rating, Dual-band WiFi, AKG-tuned stereo speakers, side-mounted fingerprint scanner, Bixby, Samsung DeX, and Ultra Wideband (UWB) support.
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3 5G
The Galaxy Z Flip3 5G has a 6.7-inch internal display with 1080×2640 resolution and a 120Hz screen refresh rate. The external screen has a 1.9-inch display with 260×512 resolution. In folded mode, the glass ‘back’ is covered in Gorilla Glass Victus.
When it comes to its camera department, it got a total of three cameras, 2 for the main, 1 for the selfie. The primary camera system consists of a 12-megapixel sensor with OIS and a 12-megapixel fixed-focus ultrawide. For the selfie camera, there’s a 10-megapixel hole-punch selfie camera located inside the screen.
Running the Galaxy Z Flip3 5G is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset, joined by 8GB of RAM and 128/256GB of non-expandable UFS 3.1 storage. For its software, it comes with a One UI 3.1 software based on Android 11. It packs a 3,300mAh battery capacity that supports 15W wired fast charging, 10W wireless, and 4.5W reverse wireless charging.
Other highlights are IPX8 water-resistant rating, 5G connection, Dual-band WiFi, AKG-tuned stereo speakers, side-mounted fingerprint scanner, Bixby, and Samsung Pay.
