League of Legends (LoL) Worlds 2021 Game Format, Teams, Schedule, Streams
The 2021 League of Legends World Championships was initially planned to take place in China. However, due to the ongoing COVID-19 complications, Riot Games has decided to move the venue to Iceland.

LoL Worlds 2021 Overview

The League of Legends Worlds 2021, the game’s biggest tournament, will be held in Iceland, Reykjavík’s Laugardalshöll Indoor Sporting Arena, from October 5 to November 6.
Twenty-two (22) participating teams will battle it out to claim the coveted Summoner’s Cup trophy and the lion’s share of a massive USD 2,225,000 (around PHP 110 million) prize pool. The tournament was originally composed of 24 teams, but due to travel restrictions, the two teams from the VCS (Vietnam) will not be able to attend.

Worlds 2021 Game Format

Here’s the game format for the 2021 LoL World Championship.
Play-Ins Stage (October 5 to 9)
The 10 Play-In teams will be drawn into two groups of five and compete in a single round-robin format. The top squad in each group will automatically advance to the Group Stage. Meanwhile, the third and fourth-place teams will play a best-of-five (Bo5), with the winners facing off against the second seed of the other group for the final two spots.
Group Stage (October 11 to 13 and October 15 to 18)
The Group Stage will feature 16 teams, consisting of the four Play-In qualifying teams and 12 Direct Invite teams.
These sixteen (16) teams will be split into four groups of four, where they will play a double-round robin format. The top two (2) squads from each group will advance to the Knockout Stage. If there is a tie, squads will compete in a tiebreaker to determine the group’s winner.
Knockout Stage (October 22 to 25; October 30 to 31; and November 6)
The Knockout Stage (Playoffs) will feature the top eight teams from Group Stage in a best-of-five, single-elimination bracket, progressing through Quarterfinals, Semifinals, and Finals.
