Genshin Impact developer miHoYo revealed that it would release the game’s version 2.2 update on October 13. Players on all platforms will receive the Genshin Impact 2.2 update, dubbed “Into the Perilous Labyrinth of Fog,” which includes a new island, a new playable character, as well as new challenges and mini-games. Redeemable codes for free Primogems were also revealed during the live stream event for the Genshin Impact 2.2 update.
New island: Tsurumi Island
Inazuma’s final major island called Tsurumi Island, will be open to players in this new patch. The island is shrouded in a dense fog with enemies such as the stealthy beasts Rifthounds and Rifthound Whelps that apply a corrosion effect. Additionally, during the “Shadow of the Ancients” event, players will be tasked with completing investigation commissions throughout Mondstadt, Liyue, and Inazuma to beat an “Anomalous Model Ruin Grader.”
New character: Thoma
Thoma is a four-star Pyro Polearm user. He provides a strong defense and buffs, suitable for a support role. Players may recruit Thoma in the second Event Wish banner featuring himself and Hu Tao. This patch, Version 2.2, will also provide Hangout Events for Thoma and Sayu.
Free character: Aloy
Aloy, the five-star Cryo Bow user who was previously only available to PlayStation users, will now be unlockable to all players (above Adventure Rank 20) in this patch.
New events: Labyrinth Warriors and Tuned to the World’s Sounds
“Labyrinth Warriors” is a combat event with players exploring a mystic domain in Inazuma with Childe and Xinyan. Players will also be accompanied by a paper figure named “Shiki Taishou,” who can offer exceptional help and buffs.
“Tuned to the World’s Sounds” is a music-based event, which allows players to enjoy the rhythm game and play various styles of music with Kamisato Ayaka, Keqing, Ningguang, Raiden Shogun, Sangonomiya Kokomi, Xiao, and Zhongli.

Serenitea Pot
More features are included in the Serenitea Pot, including a new Inazuma-themed realm layout called “Silken Courtyard,” more Inazuma-style Furnishing Blueprints, and a new furnishing type, Floating Platform. Moreover, the flowers used as furnishings can be earned from the limited-time “Dreams of Bloom” event.
Gameplay update
With Genshin Impact v2.2, DualSense Controller support will be available on Genshin Impact’s PC version.
