Team Secret started strong in Game 1 of the grand finals, as a crucial Baron Nashor takedown in 19 minute-mark helped the squad push down the lanes. Caster “Chewy” Dela Cruz, using Vayne, went berserk near the end of the match with a quadra kill before destroying SBTC’s Nexus. Team Secret finished the game in nearly 25 minutes, recording a 1-0 score in the series.
SBTC Esports dominated Game 2 with 3 dragons takedown and 20k gold advantage. The team scored 14 kills, while Team Secret only got 1 kill. Vietnam squad finished the game at the 16-minute mark, making the series tied 1-1.
Continuing their momentum, SBTC outplayed Team Secret in a grueling 19-minute match in Game 3 to take a commanding 2-1 streak in the series.
SBTC ignited Game 4 aggressively, as they aced Team Secret before crushing their Nexus, ending the match in the 13-minute mark, and scoring 3-1 in the series.
Fuelling objective-based gameplay, SBTC went all-in on Game 5 by taking down Herald in the 8-minute mark and the Baron Nashor in the 12-minute mark, giving them an advantage on pushing lanes. The squad ultimately ended the game in the 14-minute mark, with a 4-1 record in the best-of-7 series, thus, securing the championship title.
Meanwhile, Team Secret placing second also gave them a spot in the Horizon Cup. The all-Filipino Wild Rift team bagged USD 20,000.
