Tencent Games’ Level Infinite has officially launched its latest MMORPG, “Chimeraland,” in Southeast Asia, specifically in the Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, and Indonesia on PC, iOS, and Android devices.
Inspired by the primary source of Eastern mythology, the “Classic of Mountains and Seas,” mythical figures, cultures, and ethnic peoples of the ancient world all contributed to the creation of Chimeraland’s creative foundation.
The massive open world MMORPG is comprised of a 4,000-square-kilometer sandbox spanning four continents, seas, and oceans, where players can freely explore and experience an infinite number of possibilities. Chimeraland is more than an adventure game; it encourages players to establish roots and build their own homes while engaging in activities such as fishing, farming, and trading for added immersion.
Chimeraland is also a land filled with fascinating ancient creatures and beasts that players can hunt, capture, and raise as pets of 3 types: Rides, Followers, and Companions. They can further customize their in-game pets’ appearances by combining them and using them as modes of transportation or battle companions.
Moreover, players can enjoy the game cooperatively by teaming up with other players to defeat enormous beasts and monsters using a variety of weapons and strategies in both Player versus Environment (PvE) and Player versus Player (PvP) modes.
The release of the free-to-play MMORPG comes a month after the pre-registration period opened in the Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and Indonesia. With over 500,000 registrations to date, the developer has rewarded early adopters special gifts such as cowries, pet eggs, and legendary pills in advance of the game’s official launch. Additionally, the team has provided updates and engaged the community in debates about game concepts and mechanics.
Chimeraland is the first title to be published by Tencent Games’ new publishing division, Level Infinite, which was launched in December 2021.
