NetEase Games concluded NetEase Connect 2022 with a number of announcements, including six new game reveals, updates on titles such as Naraka: Bladepoint, Harry Potter: Magic Awakened, and Dead by Daylight Mobile, and insights into collaborations with other gaming studios such as Nagoshi Studio and Grasshopper Manufacture and the company’s plans to team up with other studios on a global scale.
The live stream of NetEase Connect 2022 began on May 20 with hosts Daniel Robson and Esra Krabbe of IGN Japan. Fans could view the event, which was streamed in both Japanese and English, on YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, and Twitch. A look behind the scenes at Nagoshi Studio and Grasshopper Studio revealed how NetEase Games collaborates with developers to help them achieve their creative and development goals.
Updates were given for Naraka Bladepoint, Dead by Daylight Mobile, The Lord of the Rings: Rise to War, Harry Potter: Magic Awakened, LifeAfter, and more. From new beta tests to new expansions and characters, NetEase Connect 2022 revealed a massive of upcoming content for its games throughout the year and beyond.
- Naraka Bladepoint – The mobile version of Naraka Bladepoint will include the new character Takeda, who will be launched in the game’s upcoming season. Takeda, clad in armor and armed with a katana, is constantly at war with the demon that resides within him.
- Dead by Daylight Mobile – The mobile port of Dead by Daylight will soon receive an exciting update in western regions, with a test coming very soon.
- The Lord of the Rings: Rise to War – The geo-strategic seasonal wargame officially licensed by Warner Bros. and Middle-earth Enterprises, and developed by NetEase, continues to grow in popularity with a brand-new season featuring a variety of festive and Middle-earth-themed elements. During the midsummer festival, you will work with Gandalf to create a fireworks extravaganza or with Pippin and Merry to create the Hobbit’s favorite dish.
- Harry Potter: Magic Awakened – In 2022, the immersive collectible card role-playing game will be available on PC and mobile devices worldwide.
- LifeAfter – Soon, a brand-new expansion will be released for the open-world doomsday survival game, offering a brand-new location and new survival opportunities, as well as game modes, outfits, and combat that are unprecedented.
- Badlanders – A brand-new escape gameplay mechanic has been added to the next generation’s competitive survival looter shooter game. Players win not only by being the last man standing but also by acquiring as much loot as possible. Then, the brand-new free trade feature is implemented, allowing players to buy and sell supplies and craft unique weapons from high-grade equipment, thereby increasing their opportunities to amass wealth.
- Infinite Lagrange – After the “Earth Day” event, the most recent update to Infinite Lagrange introduces “Identity Agreement” to this grand space simulation game. Different explorers will have distinct missions and settlement goals. This summer, the “Legacy” concept will be implemented into the game, allowing players to search for legacy items and use them to build their own forces.
- Identity V – A new collaboration with the Japanese steampunk artist Mitsuji Kamata will bring new costume designs to the game.
- Lost Light – A PC and mobile survival shooter set in a post-apocalyptic future, based on the concept of “survival, warfighting, progression,” where strategies are crucial within the exclusion zone. Every choice you make will influence your ultimate destiny. In Lost Light, in addition to fierce combat, players can build their own shelters and gather supplies through battle and trade. In the third quarter of this year, iOS will undergo its first beta test.
- Vikingard – Midsummer is the peak of the year when the days are at their brightest, and the heart is at its most daring. By this time, the Vikings had safely planted their crops and sailed off to fight in distant lands. In June, the new expansion Midsummer will be added to Vikingard.
- Ace Racer – In June, a second beta test for the over-the-top racing game with cars that can travel through walls, transform while driving, and even launch into the sky will be released.
During NetEase Connect, a number of brand-new games were unveiled, including the 2v4 competitive stealth game Mission Zero, the sci-fi title Once Be Human, the tactical battler Tank Company, and the post-apocalyptic third-person shooter ZOZ: Final Hour.
- Mission Zero – A cinematic 2v4 competitive stealth game in which players assume the role of either invaders or pursuers. Participate in frantic games of hide-and-seek; don a disguise to blend in as an invader. Use your special equipment to steal information and make narrow escapes. You can also use your abilities as a chaser to expose invaders and prevent them from completing their mission. Thailand, Malaysia, New Zealand, and Australia will launch a technical test on July 8.
- Once Be Human – The game is set 30 years in the future, at the end of civilization. It depicts the aftermath of a mysterious door being opened, Stardust polluting the world, and monster hordes being created by Stardust. There is a glimmer of hope in the form of “Beyonders,” humans with extraordinary abilities who are turning the tables and becoming the hunter instead of the prey. - ZOZ: Final Hour – In this unique third-person shooter, 15 mercenaries infiltrate the zombie-infested city of San Yager to collect valuable Blood Crystals and repel the undead. Players who perish during a match are revived as zombies with an entirely new set of abilities and unlimited respawns. Regional testing is now open for ZOZ: Final Hour.
- Tank Company – Massive 15v15 online multiplayer tank battles on a variety of maps featuring tanks from World War II and the Cold War. To explore the game’s maps, players can work with friends or join a clan. Utilize the environment to your advantage and engage in tactical combat across a variety of game modes. Pre-registration for the game is now open.
