Opensignal has released its June 2022 report entitled “Benchmarking the Global 5G Experience.” It reveals the results of their most recent benchmarks for the global 5G experience, naming the Philippines as one of the countries that experienced substantial improvements in the 5G experience.
According to the latest report, the country continues to see a tremendous uplift with the shift from 4G to 5G. Though the Philippines is not included in the 5G Global Top 15 in terms of speed, it entered the 5G Global Top 15 in terms of uplift.
The Philippines ranked third in terms of 5G vs 4G Download Speed Improvement (ratio) with a score of 8.8. This category was topped by Malaysia at 25.7 and Chile at 9.0.
Moreover, the Philippines secured the first spot in terms of 5G vs 4G Video Experience Improvement at 79 percent with a 5G Video Experience score of 68.6, followed by Malaysia at 73 percent.
In terms of speed, the Philippines recorded a 5G Download Speed of 138.6 Mbps.
The 5G Download Speed was led by South Korea with 432.7 Mbps. Meanwhile, Taiwan dominated the 5G Peak Download Speed at 922.5 Mbps. Malaysia ranked first in 5G Upload Speed with 50.3 Mbps.
