POCO Philippines has announced that POCO C40 will launch on July 15, 2022. The budget Android smartphone features a 6.71-inch IPS display, JLQ JR510 SoC, and a massive 6,000 mAh battery.
The 6.71-inch display on the POCO C40 is the largest display on a POCO device to date. This screen features Gorilla Glass protection, an HD+ resolution of 1650 x 720 pixels, and a notch.
Strangely, the Xiaomi sub-brand opted for a less-common chipset made by JLQ Technology, also Linsheng Technology, a joint venture company founded by Qualcomm and a subsidiary of China Datang Telecom. In particular, this octa-core processor is JR510, built on an 11 nm process and clocked up to 2.0GHz. This CPU is said to be as good as the Helio G35 from MediaTek.
Moreover, Xiaomi Poco C40 has 4GB RAM, 64GB expandable storage, and a 6,000mAh battery capacity with support for USB-C 18W charging. However, the in-box charger is only 10W.
The company claims that one full charge of the battery can offer an average usage time of up to twenty hours of video playback.
For cameras, it has a 13-megapixel f/2.2 PDAF (phase detection autofocus) + 2-megapixel f/2.4 depth + LED flash at the back and a 5MP f/2.2 lens on the front.
Other highlights include a rear-mounted fingerprint reader, 4G LTE connectivity, dual-band WiFi, 3.5mm audio jack, and Android 11-based MIUI 13 for POCO software.
