How to replace a lost DITO SIM card with the same number

Losing your DITO SIM card can be an annoying experience, mainly if you use your phone number for communication or have it linked to apps or services requiring a one-time PIN (OTP), such as a mobile wallet, online banking, and online shopping.

A SIM card can be lost or damaged due to some reasons, such as when it is misplaced, broken, malfunctioned, or the phone is stolen. Thankfully, since SIM card registration was made available in the Philippines, it is now easier to replace a lost SIM and keep the same mobile number. This is due to the fact that your telco provider already has a record of your personal information. To get started, have a look at the guide provided below.

How to replace a lost DITO SIM card and keep the same mobile number?

To have your lost DITO SIM card replaced while keeping your mobile number, follow the steps below.

Step 1: Report your lost device to NTC for IMEI blocking.

Whether your phone with a DITO SIM was stolen or lost, you should report it to the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) so that its IMEI can be blocked, preventing an unauthorized user from using it. For comprehensive instructions and requirements, see: How to Block Lost/Stolen Phone Using IMEI (Report to NTC).

Step 2: Request DITO SIM blocking (for those who can't go to DITO Store immediately).

To ensure the safety of your account, you may have your line deactivated temporarily by contacting one of these DITO customer service channels:
  • Send a message through the official DITO Telecommunity Facebook page (https://ift.tt/eBbxMi1) and request SIM blocking.
  • Access the DITO App for live chat support.
  • Call the DITO customer service hotline at 185 using a DITO-enabled phone.
  • Send an e-mail to customerservice@dito.ph.

Step 3: Go to the DITO Store to request SIM replacement.

To replace a lost DITO SIM card, visit the nearest DITO Experience Store in your area (https://ift.tt/E0RWY2k). Bring the required documents: a Duly Notarized Affidavit of Loss and a government-issued ID. Prepare also PHP 40 for the SIM replacement fee. Upon arriving at the store, the staff will ask you to present your documents and provide your personal information, including your full name, address, birth date, and mobile number, similar to the details you provided when you registered your SIM card. For your safety, your lost DITO SIM card will be deactivated permanently, and you will receive a new 5G-ready SIM card with the same mobile number. Within 24 hours, the DITO store will activate the newly issued SIM card.

More Information About DITO SIM Replacement

When you ask for a SIM replacement, DITO will give you a 5G-enabled SIM that works with 4G LTE networks as well as 5G connections in selected areas with compatible devices.

After replacing your DITO SIM with the same number, the remaining load balance of your old SIM will be transferred to your new SIM.

Moreover, your existing DITO promo subscription will remain active as long as it is not yet expired. This applies to all your registered promos prior to SIM replacement.

If you have a GCash account linked to your phone number, you shouldn't have any problem obtaining a new SIM card with the same number.

On the other hand, a DITO SIM that has expired can't be replaced with the same number, as it has been permanently disabled and disconnected from the DITO network.
