How to replace a lost Smart or TNT SIM with the same number

Losing your Smart or TNT SIM card can be a frustrating experience, especially if you use your mobile number for communication or have it linked to apps that require a one-time PIN (OTP), such as e-wallet, online shopping, and online banking.

A SIM card can be lost or damaged in a number of ways, such as when it is misplaced, broken, malfunctioned, or the phone is stolen. Since SIM registration was made available in the Philippines, it is now easier to replace a lost SIM card and keep the same mobile number. This is because your information is already registered with your telco. Check out the guide below to get started.

How to replace a lost Smart or TNT SIM and keep the same mobile number?

To have your lost Smart Prepaid, Smart Postpaid, Smart Bro, Sun, or TNT SIM card replaced while keeping your mobile number, follow the steps below.

Step 1: Report your lost phone to NTC for IMEI blocking.

Whether your phone with a Smart or TNT SIM was stolen or lost, you should report it to the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) so that its IMEI can be blocked, preventing it from being used by an unauthorized user. For complete instructions, see: How to Block Lost/Stolen Phone Using IMEI (Report to NTC).

Step 2: Request for Smart/TNT SIM deactivation (for those who can't go to Smart Store immediately).

To ensure the safety of your account and avoid unnecessary charges, you may have your line deactivated temporarily by contacting the Smart customer service hotline at *888 using a Smart/TNT number or (02) 8888-1111 via a landline.

Step 3: Go to the Smart Store to request SIM replacement.

To replace a lost Smart/Talk 'N Text SIM card for free, visit the Smart store closest to you (https://ift.tt/rqItK04) or schedule an appointment (https://ift.tt/oKJGOln). Bring the required documents: a Duly Notarized Affidavit of Loss and a government-issued ID. The store personnel will also request your personal information, including your full name, address, birth date, and mobile number, similar to the information you provided when you registered your SIM card. For your safety, your lost Smart/TNT SIM card will be deactivated permanently, and you will receive a new 5G SIM card with the same mobile number. Within 24 hours, the Smart store will activate the newly issued SIM card.
