Netflix has released its report for the January 2023 ISP Speed Index for the Philippines, ranking select local broadband internet service providers (ISPs) based on their performance.
In the latest report, PLDT, Converge ICT Solution, and Globe Telecom tied for the top spot, registering average speeds of 3.4 Mbps. This is slightly lower than the December 2022 record of 3.6 Mbps.
Coming in second place is Sky Cable, with an average speed of 3.2 Mbps.
Meanwhile, Royal Cable settled for third place, recording an average speed of 2.4 Mbps.
It should be noted that Globe Telecom and PLDT offer fiber and DSL (digital subscriber line) networks. On the other hand, Sky Cable, Royal Cable, and Converge have two types of internet: fiber and cable.
The 3.4 Mbps record of the top Philippine telcos in the January 2023 Netflix ISP Index was also comparable to other countries that experience superior Netflix speeds.
Among the countries that achieved the same average speed were Argentina, Austria, Chile, Ecuador, Finland, France, India, Italy, Japan, Paraguay, Peru, Taiwan, Trinidad & Tobago, and Uruguay.
