Mobile wallet app GCash announced that it will end support for iPhone iOS 13 and below, which is slated for January 25, 2024.
In an advisory, GCash informed its users regarding the end-of-support for the old mobile operating systems by Apple:
Starting [January] 25, 2024, GCash users using an iPhone with an operating system of iOS 13 and below will not be able to access or log in to their GCash app.
GCash mentioned the advantages of utilizing the latest iOS version:
An updated iOS ensures a safe and secure experience by giving you the latest security features available on GCash.
Moreover, the fintech company cited that the money of GCash users using iPhone iOS 13 and lower is secured:
The GCash account and funds of affected users are safe and intact. Should there be any outstanding balances to settle with GLoan, GCredit, and GGives, GCash users may pay via our GCash payment partners.
GCash also urged its users to update their device's iOS to the latest version:
To continue using GCash, make sure your iPhone is updated to iOS 14 and above.
