Honor X9c 'Toughest Phone' to launch in PH on Jan 10, 2025

At the start of the new year 2025, Honor Philippines revealed its new smartphone offering. It announced that the Honor X9c 5G, dubbed The Toughest Phone, is slated for release in the country on Friday, January 10.

Stephen Cheng, VP of Honor Philippines, said:
This is our biggest launch ever, and we're excited to be dropping this [at] the same time we welcome 2025! This smartphone is stronger with its All-Angle Ultra Defense. Honor X9c 5G is now water, drop, and heat-resistant. Mark your calendars on January 10 and get to know the toughest phone of 2025.

The Honor X9c 5G phone highlights the All-Angle Triple Defense. It has an SGS 5-star rating for drop resistance and can survive drops from up to two meters.

Honor X9c - helicopter drop test

As an even more extreme drop test, Honor is going to use a chopper to drop the latest X9c 5G from 500 feet up in the air, that's 152.4 meters.

For ingress protection, the mid-range phone has an IP65M rating for water resistance, meaning it can be submerged in water up to 25-centimeter deep for a maximum of five minutes.

Thanks to its heat resistance, the new X9c 5G has the ability to withstand extreme temperatures. According to Honor, this phone can endure a bone-chilling cold -40°C to a scorching hot 70°C.

The boiling test, a new trend that's sure to blow up social media once again, is Honor's biggest surprise for its highly-anticipated durable smartphone.

Further, Honor noted that the rear camera of X9c now has an "anti-drop camera shield," which the older models did not have. This should help protect the camera better if the phone drops.

Notably, the X9c phone has a much larger battery, increasing from 5,800 mAh to 6,600 mAh. This change means it can last for about 89 hours, according to Honor. This is a 12-hour improvement compared to the battery life of the X9b model.

Moreover, the X9c now supports 66-watt Super Charge, a big upgrade from the X9b's 35-watt charging. This fast charging feature can juice up the phone from zero to 80 percent in just 42 minutes, according to Honor.

The full specs and official price of X9c 5G will be revealed during its launch event, which will be streamed live on the Honor Philippines Facebook page on January 10, 2025, at 6 PM.
