Hero shooter game Marvel Rivals has announced the details of the Season 1.5 update prior to its release on February 21, 2025. The continuation of Season 1 will introduce Human Torch and The Thing, characters from The Fantastic Four, as new playable heroes.
Further, a new currency redemption system will let players convert excess Chrono Tokens into Units. Other updates include the "Empire of Eternal Night: Central Park" map, changes to competitive mode, tournament plans, and hero balance adjustments (buffs and nerfs).

Human Torch (Duelist)
Johnny Storm is part of the Fantastic Four and is known for his fiery personality and good looks. He joined his sister on an experimental space mission to explore the stars. Instead of just visiting space, he gained the power to turn his body into fire and became the Human Torch.
The Human Torch heightens every flame fight. He flies throughout the city to collect Chronovium and scavenge for Timestream Reintegration Device parts when he's not scorching Dracula's legions with flames hotter than the sun.

The Thing (Vanguard)
Ben Grimm signed up to be a pilot for his friend Reed. However, he never expected to return from their mission as a rocky monster, The Thing. Despite his stone appearance after cosmic rays altered him, he has a golden heart.
Since New York City fell into everlasting night, the Thing has dedicated himself to protecting his home and leading Chronovium-collecting expeditions with his piloting skills.

Tournament Plans in 2025
The Marvel Rivals Championship (MRC) saw a full number of Faction registrations in North America. After the next update in the second half of Season 1, the Marvel Rivals team will raise that limit.
Starting at the end of February and running into March 2025, there will be a series of Marvel Rivals Invitationals (MRI) leading up to the grand championship.
