Riot Games Philippines resumes the competitive journey of its mobile MOBA game League of Legends: Wild Rift via Wild Rounds: Pilipinas Open. Riding the momentum of Split 1, Wild Rift raises the bar for Split 2, bringing fierce rivalries as teams battle for a coveted spot for SMASH 2026 in South Korea this November.
Gensokyo and IIXWR's unbeaten runs and Rebengga's pro-play comeback with team Elder Dragon have made Split 2 exciting. These storylines lead up to the Playoffs from September 18 to 20 and the competitive play's Creator Showmatch debut on September 20, where top Filipino content creators like Suzzysaur, Christian Bautista, and others will compete in a unique friendly match.

Split 1 established the scene for perfect group-stage campaigns and fan-favorite squads. Filipino players and spectators witnessed sophisticated gaming and intense rivalry throughout the six-week 74-team split.
Fans' favorites Gensokyo and IIXWR dominated Group A and Group B. Further, Peekaboo and Cubao Korea cleared their respective brackets, C and D, without a loss.
Several players stood out during the event with amazing performances and statistics that showed their impact on the arena.
Kuro led Peekaboo in Split 1 with a 12.2 KDA and 72% KP. Manila alinam spearheaded Cubao Korea's almost-perfect run with a 3.13 KDA and 38% KP rate in the top lane. In IIXWR's spotless Split 1 run, jungler Karma ruled with a 4.45 KDA and 65% KP.

On the heels of Split 1, Wild Rift boosted the challenge for Split 2, which kicked off August 8, with 36 squads competing in the qualifiers for one of 16 group-stage slots as the competition approached a crucial phase leading up to Road to SMASH 2026 in South Korea, set for November.
Returning contenders include Gensokyo, IIXWR, Bonus Round, and Cubao Korea.
Group stage matches were fast-paced, with powerful squads starting strong. Gensokyo again triumphed in Group A with 3-0 (7 points), followed closely by Elder Dragon with 2-1 (6 points). Split 1 star IIXWR led Group B with a clean 3-0 record (9 points) ahead of team Tempo at 2-1 (4 points), and Bonus Round topped Group C with a perfect 3-0 (8 points), followed by UA1 Esports 2-1 (6 points).
The competitive pro-player return of Rebengga, a former LoL PC pro for Manila Eagles, Hey Gaming, and Team Red, is one of the split's main highlights. Rebengga finally returned to pro play as a jungler for team Elder Dragon in Split 2 after coaching Wild Rift for Bren Esports (2021) and Fennel (2023). He has led Elder Dragon to a 2-1 Group A record with HachM, Yamada, Faemon, and Svante Flynt, keeping them in playoff contention.
While the August 9 matches were postponed due to monsoon rains, the weekly Group Stage games resumed on the 15th and ran until the 30th. The Qualifying Rounds slated for September 10-11 will set the stage for the Playoffs on September 18-20.
Creator Showmatch
Filipino content creators will compete in the Creator Showmatch, adding spice to the Wild Rounds Pilipinas Open.
This influencer-led event will challenge creative problem-solving and gaming strategy in a unique exhibition match.
Before the much-awaited Road to SMASH Finals on September 20, the Creator Showmatch will showcase a star-studded lineup of rising gaming personalities and influencers. Fans can expect an intense Rift battle between the two teams. Vannybear, Shanghigh, Christian Bautista, RauxTV, and Mirmooo will face Suzzysaur, Kitz, Kioko, TitoSpicy, and Eisendhart.
