After the last month’s release of the 2.0 update that features the Inazuma expansion, here comes Genshin Impact 2.1 update. miHoYo has announced that the Genshim Impact version 2.1 update dubbed as “Floating World Under the Moonlight,” will release on September 1, 2021. It will bring new content and gameplay to the recently released Inazuma area, including two more major islands, three new characters, and a grand finale to the Inazuma’s main story. Players will also be receiving the crossover character Aloy for free.

Genshin Impact 2.1 New Locations
The Genshin Impact 2.1 introduces two more major islands and the final chapter of the Inazuma’s Archon Quest.
Two new islands in Inazuma will be playable, including Watatsumi Island and Seirai Island. Watatsumi Island is home to the Sangonomiya Kokomi’s resistance army. Meanwhile, Seirai Island is a place of desolation shrouded in eternal storms.
Genshin Impact 2.1 New Characters
The latest update contains three new playable characters, including Raiden Shogun, Sangonomiya Kokomi, and Kujou Sara. Crossover character Aloy will also be introduced.
Raiden Shogun, also known as Baal or the God of Eternity, is a five-star Electro polearm user who can deal massive damage and render helpful buffs to the team.
There’s also Sangonomiya Kokomi, the Divine Priestess of Watatsumi Island and leader of the resistance forces, a five-star character. She wields the power of Hydro and a catalyst. She can be a great support as she can provide a tremendous amount of healing to teammates.
The third character is Kujou Sara, the bold and decisive general of the Tenryou Commission loyal to the Shogun. Kujou can deal solid Electro ranged attacks with her bow and provide buffs to her teammates.
PlayStation players can also get the free five-star bow user Aloy, a crossover from Horizon Zero Dawn in version 2.1. Aloy will be playable on all platforms in version 2.2.
The crossover character from Horizon Zero Dawn, Aloy, will also arrive in the version 2.1 update. Aloy is a five-star bow user and will be available for players for free. Players who have reached Adventure Rank 20 or above can get her either during Version 2.1 on PlayStation or during Version 2.2 on all platforms.
Genshin Impact 2.1 Bosses
The Genshin Impact 2.1 patch will include new bosses: the Hydro Hypostasis, Thunder Manifestation, and the new Trounce Domain Boss Signora.
Genshin Impact 2.1 Fishing
The upcoming Genshin Impact 2.1 update will also introduce fishing. Players will receive a Fishing Rod as part of an event. Caught fish can be used to produce fish meat or redeemed for rewards and new fishing rods from the Fishing Association.
In addition, players can grow Ornamental Fish in their personal realms using the Pool of Sapphire Grace, a new furnishing added to the Serenitea Pot system.
Moonchase Festival
The Moonchase Festival in Liyue will bring various seasonal events and rewards.
Players will reunite with Keqing and Xiangling during the festival by cooking and tasting traditional delicacies and recipes.
Those who enjoy treasures will enjoy the Moonlight Seeker event, which will take them on a giant treasure search across Liyue, Mondstadt, and Dragonspine.
By participating in the Moonlight Seeker event, players can earn rewards and exchange them for valuable resources, such as the new four-star claymore Luxurious Sea-Lord for maximum refining. Additionally, players can claim in-game gifts and up to ten Intertwined Fate during the new daily login event.
