After being delayed for a few weeks, HoYoverse has finally announced that the Genshin Impact 2.7 update is set to release on May 31, 2022. The latest Genshin Impact 2.7 patch, dubbed “Hidden Dreams in the Depths,” includes new characters, a new Interlude Chapter, and various events with abundant rewards. Redeem codes for free Primogems were also revealed during the live stream event for the Genshin Impact 2.7 update. Check out the highlights below.
New Characters: Yelan and Kuki Shinobu
The latest Genshin Impact update includes two new playable characters, Yelan and Kuki Shinobu.
Yelan, the new five-star Hydro Bow user, is a mysterious individual with multiple identities, including the proprietor of the Yanshang Teahouse and the Liyue special intelligence officer. As a Hydro DPS character, she combines rapid attacks with agile mobility.
The new four-star Electro Sword user, Kuki Shinobu, is a remarkably dependable and competent Arataki Gang deputy boss. She can be a reliable support. Shinobu can consume her own HP to heal other party members while inflicting periodical Electro DMG to nearby opponents.
New Archon Interlude Chapter
In the new event Perilous Trail, players will start a new Archon Quest Interlude Chapter featuring a varied cast of characters inside The Chasm. This new Archon Quest story involves Yanfei, Yelan, Arataki Itto, and Kuki Shinobu.
Meanwhile, Xiao, the “Vigilant Yaksha” who is conducting his own inquiry, is also in jeopardy. This eclectic group will eventually learn about the buried past, including how the people of Liyue fought off demons 500 years ago and the yakshas’ role in history as the story progresses. Playing through the story will also unlock the new combat challenge, “Realms of Guile and War,” as well as abundant rewards, such as the event-exclusive four-star bow, Fading Twilight, which can be purchased from the event shop. In four separate challenge domains, players must carefully examine their party setup strategy using a variety of Stratagem buffs and domain-specific rules to sustain numerous rounds of combat.
Genshin Impact version 2.7 Banners (Event Wishes)
Xiao and Arataki Itto are up for rerun. Here are the banners to be released on the upcoming patch 2.7 of Genshin Impact:
- Banner 1: Yelan (5-star Hydro) and Xiao (5-star Anemo)
- Banner 2: Arataki Itto (5-star Geo) + Kuki Shinobu (4-star Electro)
The Weapon banner during Banner1 will feature Yelan’s and Xiao’s signature weapons, the Aqua Simulacra and the Primordial Jade Winged Spear, respectively.
Genshin Impact 2.7 Events
Here’s a rundown of all of the announced events in Genshin Impact 2.7:
- Perilous Trail: the latest patch’s main event features a domain-based Archon quest
- The Almighty Arataki Great and Glorious Drumalong Festival: rhythm game event where travellers play the drum to the beat and share beat maps with other travellers
- Core of the Apparatus: Serenitea Pot event where travellers construct robot furnishings
- A Muddy Bizarre Adventure: dungeon event in The Chasm where players battle in dark mud against buffed enemies within time limits or escort a hot air balloon with the Lumenstone Adjuvant and special installations called the Pursina’s Spikes.
- The Gang’s Daily Deeds: Kuki’s Hangout event

Here’s how you can redeem these codes. On your mobile device or PC, open your Genshin Impact game and click on the profile icon. Next, navigate to the Settings and then Account. And finally, click the Redeem Now button, paste the redeem code, and tap on the “Exchange” button to claim the rewards.
